COPPER SMITHY, FISKARS VILLAGE
FACTORY is a multidisciplinary exhibition that reveals the diverse roles of modern factories. In the summer 2019, more than forty artists and collaborations bring their own vision about the meaning of a factory for arts and production today. The exhibition is curated by Anniina Koivu.
The exhibition combines traditional design and crafts with surprising collaborations between art and technology. The theme of a factory is tackled through different art forms and techniques. How does a craftsman, a carpenter or an industrial manufacturer comprise the essence of factories? What is a modern factory like? Can slowly hand made quality be born in a factory environment?
The exhibition is produced by Onoma Cooperative of Artisans, Designers and Artists in. In 2019, the summer exhibition by Onoma is also a part of the Fiskars Village Art & Design Biennale as one of its three exhibitions.
